Providence and Central Falls students successfully complete the Pre-ETS Summer Alliance Program

Students from Providence and Central Falls have successfully completed the Pre-ETS Summer Alliance program. The Summer Alliance program is intended to allow students with significant disabilities to participate in a work experience that reinforces transition goals for employment. The Program design includes providing a work experience that happens in conjunction with the Providence School Year Program. The following things are focused on during this program: learning about necessary job skills, preparing for employment or to be ready for higher/education for employment, logistics of getting to and from work with public transportation or personal transportation, being punctual and learning how to follow a work schedule.

The Providence program runs for four weeks throughout the summer providing experience in an integrated competitive employment setting. Providence has been actively providing the Summer Alliance program to its students for 10 successful years!

ORS Rehabilitation Counselor Sandra Perez, Rehabilitation Technician Judi Morales, and Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor Teresa DiMattia have worked with these students helping them to achieve their transition goals.

Central Falls has completed their second year of the Summer Alliance program. Their program runs for five weeks throughout the summer.  ORS Rehabilitation Counselors Iliana Santiago and Graciela Pires have worked with these students on their journey as they achieve their goals to prepare them for successful employment.
